In implementing the new-style rural development programme, with the highest determination to achieve its set goals, Muong Sai commune has mobilized the entire political system into action and promoted the pioneering role of officials and party members while also garnering support and participation from the local people. It has enhanced communication work at the grassroots level and promoted exemplary role models to raise awareness about the central role of the people in the process.
Over the past three years, Muong Sai commune has mobilized a total of more than 222 billion VND (8.73 million USD) for new-style rural development, of which 211 billion VND came from the state budget and over 11 billion VND was donated by the local people to improve rural infrastructure. To date, 100% of the commune's roads, 97.74% of inter-hamlet roads, and 100% of intra-hamlet roads have been paved; eight hamlet cultural houses and five water supply projects have been rupgraded. The multidimensional poverty rate has dropped to 5.1%, while 100% of the working-age population is employed. The commune has achieved all 19 criteria and all 57 targets for new-style rural development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, praised the efforts and achievements of Muong Sai commune in implementing the programme. He urged the commune to continue enhancing public awareness, promoting community solidarity, and striving to maintain and improve the new-style rural building criteria. He also recommended studying and deploying production models suited to the local conditions, continually improving average incomes, striving for sustainable poverty reduction, and aiming for the elimination of poverty in the future.
On this occasion, the provincial People's Committee awarded the certificates of merit to three collectives and five individuals, while the district People's Committee granted commendation certificates to five collectives and 10 individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the new-style rural development programme.
