Attending the meeting were Cha A Cua, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial Election Committee, along with members of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, leaders of the provincial People’s Council and People’s Committee, heads of departments and agencies, and members of the provincial Election Committee.
At the meeting, a leader of the provincial Department of Home Affairs reported on developments during election day. Preparations for candidate nomination were conducted methodically and in line with procedures, while voter lists and ballot boxes were publicly posted in accordance with legal regulations.
Communication efforts were intensified and diversified, helping citizens clearly understand their rights and responsibilities and creating an enthusiastic atmosphere for election day, with voter turnout reaching 99.72%.
Facilities and equipment serving election day were fully prepared in compliance with regulations. Police, military, and other relevant forces were deployed in a coordinated manner to ensure security and order at polling stations, with no disturbances or complicated incidents reported.
The province also synchronously implemented voter list management, candidate profile administration, and election progress monitoring through election management software, ensuring timely and high-quality reporting on election progress and results. Son La elected the full number of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the provincial People’s Council as prescribed by law. No polling station recorded voter turnout below 50%, and no constituency or polling area required re-election, additional voting, or annulment of results.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and Chairman of the provincial Election Committee Nguyen Dinh Viet acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of relevant agencies, units, and localities in contributing to the success of the election. He requested members of the provincial Election Committee to continue gather information about comprehensive election results across the province, finalise reports and documentation for submission to the National Election Council and competent authorities, and coordinate communication efforts to publicise the outcomes and success of the election, thereby strengthening public consensus and trust.
