Organising Committee for Son La’s 6th Patriotic Emulation Congress convenes meeting

Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dinh Viet, who is head of the Organising Committee of the 6th Patriotic Emulation Congress of Son La province, chaired a meeting on the preparations for the congress on September 22.

Attending the meeting were Vi Duc Tho, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; as well as leaders of relevant departments, agencies, and members of the organising committee.

The congress is an important political event aimed at reviewing and assessing the patriotic emulation movements and commendation work for the 2020-2025 period; commending and honouring outstanding collectives and individuals; and motivating officials, Party members, and people of all ethnic groups in the province to continue emulating to successfully achieve socio-economic development goals and ensure national defence and security.

At the meeting, participants heard reports from subcommittees on the progress of the preparations, including the proposed agenda, scenario, speeches, communications, logistics, and protocol. Based on assigned tasks, the subcommittees have developed detailed plans, and clearly assigned responsibilities to each member to ensure progress.

Discussions focused on selecting the theme of the congress, the date of the event, the content of the invitations, the draft programme for launching the patriotic emulation movement for the 2025-2030 period, the proposed list of provincial delegates to attend the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, and dissemination activities before, during, and after the congress.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dinh Viet requested the subcommittees to collect delegates’ opinions, finalise reports, and submit them to standing members of the provincial Party Committee for approval. Subcommittees were asked to continue perfecting the opening and closing programmes, operational scenarios, and give advice on issuing invitations and drafting invitations to central-level leaders.

Competent agencies were tasked with intensifying media coverage across mass communication channels, coordinating the production of documentaries, special pages, and programmes on the patriotic emulation movement; developing plans for traffic management, fire prevention and firefighting, and ensuring food safety and hygiene.
