As of 11:30 a.m. on July 24, in Ban Lam and Chieng Bom communes, floods had left one person dead and two others missing; 181 houses had completely collapsed and been flooded and swept away. The floods also swept away over 3,200 poultry, nine cattle and a large area of crops. Many traffic routes were flooded and suffered landslides while 17 electric poles were broken.

Hung requested the district to regularly capture information and provide timely support for residents, absolutely not letting any household lack food. After the flood water recedes, forces must be arranged to help residents clean their houses and stabilize their lives, he said.

According to the leader, it is necessary to implement well plans for natural disaster prevention and control and search and rescue under the motto "four on the spot"; and pay attention to ensuring the safe operation of lakes, dams, and pumping stations. In the long term, a plan needs to be developed to ensure drainage and prevent flooding in Phe hamlet.
