Permanent members of 16th-tenure People’s Council convene first meeting

Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Lo Minh Hung on March 31 chaired the first meeting of permanent members of the 16th-tenure People’s Council for the 2026–2031 term. The event was attended by member of the Standing Board of the Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Council Vi Duc Tho, among others.

The meeting reviewed proposals on approving the number and list of deputy heads and members of the council’s boards, including full-time and part-time members of the council.

It also provided feedback on a draft resolution regarding the establishment of People’s Council delegations and the appointment of heads and deputy heads of these delegations. In addition, the meeting approved the chairpersons and vice chairpersons of commune- and ward-level People’s Councils for the 2026–2031 term, and assigned full-time staff to assist the council’s boards.

In his remarks, Hung urged heads of the council’s boards to promptly implement their tasks and, together with full-time members, swiftly develop and issue the council’s working regulations.

He called for clear assignment of responsibilities to ensure accountability and improve operational efficiency. He also requested thorough preparations for the first thematic session of the council, focusing on key issues such as public investment disbursement, budget allocation and other urgent tasks.

On organisational work, the official noted that staffing consolidation at the council’s Office had been completed, with appointed officials meeting requirements in terms of capability and experience, helping enhance advisory and support quality for the council’s activities in the new term.
