Proud of Vietnamese mettle and intelligence!

Today, April 30, 2025, marks half a century since the Liberation of the South and National Reunification - a brilliant milestone in the history of the Vietnamese nation. That great victory was not only the result of the indomitable will, passionate patriotism, and the strength of great national unity, but also from the decisive action mindset, mettle, and intelligence of the Party.

In early 1975, on all fronts, "the situation evolved rapidly. The revolution in the South was entering a period of leapfrog development", "one day equalled 20 years". In that situation, the Politburo decided to grasp this strategic opportunity, and be determined to carry out a general offensive and uprising to put an end to the struggle for liberation in the shortest possible time, with the best time set for April, without delay.

The Politburo's guiding ideology was sound and timely, demonstrating the wisdom, strategic talent, flexibility and creativity of the Party. In just 55 days of attack and uprising, starting with the Central Highlands Campaign (from April 3, 1975), continuing with the victory of the Hue - Da Nang Campaign, and ending with the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign on April 30, 1975, the country entered an era of independence, unity, and advancing toward socialism.

Half a century has passed, the spirit of the Great Victory of Spring 1975 still carries intact value, being a great source of motivation for the country to firmly step on the path of building, defending, and innovating the Fatherland.

The 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification this year takes place when the revolution in streamlining the organisational apparatus of the political system enters the "sprint" stage. The intelligent and clear-sighted guiding ideology of the Party in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign seems to continue, urging the entire Party, army and people to have the highest determination, the fastest and most drastic actions to win victory in the revolution of the new era - streamlining the apparatus to make the country rise up.

Implementing the direction of Party General Secretary To Lam at the national conference to implement the review of the implementation of Resolution 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Party Central Committee, which states that "Streamlining the apparatus of the political system is a very urgent issue, and must be done, as the sooner it is done, the more it benefits the people and the country", the entire political system has taken actions in a rapid, but cautious and methodical manner, and has achieved important results.

With high unity within the Party, the consensus and support of the people, the streamlining of the apparatus has been carried out synchronously, comprehensively and drastically from the central to local levels. The whole country is urgently implementing the arrangement and reorganisation of administrative units at all levels; building a two-level local administration model; while drastically and concertedly implementing solutions to promote growth.

Sharing the joy of the great victory day, being proud of the mettle and intelligence of the Party, and having a deeper understanding of the values and lessons learned from practice, the Party organisation and people of all ethnic groups in Son La are striving together with the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army to unite, be unanimous and highly determined, make great efforts, and take drastic and effective actions to triumph in the revolution of streamlining the organisational apparatus of the political system, contributing to accelerating, breaking through, and surpassing the targets and tasks set for 2025 and the entire 13th term of the National Party Congress.

The province is carefully preparing the conditions for organising Party congresses at all levels, towards the 16th provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, and the 14th National Party Congress - the beginning of the new era of the nation’s rise.
