
Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dinh Viet inspects the progress of the project to relocate residents from landslide-prone areas in Ngam hamlet.
The delegation inspected the ongoing project to relocate residents from areas at risk of landslides and rockfalls in Ngam hamlet, Song Pe commune, invested by the district People's Committee. The project covers the construction of transportation and technical infrastructure; civil works; and industrial energy works, including 35 kV and 0.4 kV power lines.
Its total investment is approximately 65.8 billion VND (2.6 million USD), sourced from the provincial public investment budget for the 2021-2025 period. The project is scheduled to be implemented from 2024 to 2025.

So far, Bac Yen district has completed the feasibility study report for the project and is in the process of developing a detailed plan for a rural residential area covering nearly 6.5 hectares.

During the inspection, Viet asked the provincial departments and Bac Yen district to coordinate in resolving any challenges, accelerating the project progress. Priority should be given to public awareness campaigns, land clearance, investment in essential infrastructure such as schools and roads, and allocation of farming land for local residents.
He urged the Party committee, authorities, and people of Ngam hamlet to support the project so that it can be completed soon to ensure the safety of lives and property, and to stabilize the livelihoods of the residents before the rainy season of 2025.
