Provincial chairman inspects preparations for inauguration of wastewater treatment project in former Son La city

Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, and head of the provincial Delegation to the National Assembly Nguyen Dinh Viet on August 18 inspected the preparations for the inauguration ceremony of the Son La city Drainage and Wastewater Treatment System project.

This project is among the key works celebrating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025).

Accompanying Viet were Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, along with leaders from relevant departments and agencies.

The inauguration ceremony will take place on August 19 at the Son La city Wastewater Treatment Plant, located in Tong hamlet, Chieng An ward. As of now, preparations are nearly complete. The central event area has been set up, and the provincial newspaper and television station have finalised the script and programme for the live broadcast of the event.

After hearing reports from the organising units, Viet commended their proactive efforts in carrying out assigned tasks. He emphasised that the event must be prepared with care, formality, and ensured safety, while also creating broad and positive public engagement.

He stressed that all technical and aesthetic aspects must adhere strictly to the approved designs. Departments and contractors were instructed to promptly resolve any outstanding issues, tidy up the surrounding area, and ensure a clean, green, and beautiful environment.

The provincial chairman requested that all conditions be fully prepared to ensure a successful inauguration ceremony on the morning of August 19.
