Attending the event was Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, and head of the Son La delegation to the National Assembly.

In 2025, 2,887 families across the province are in need of housing support, with total funding estimated at over 160 billion VND (6.2 million USD). Among these, 214 are families of revolution contributors, 343 eligible to benefit from national target programmes, and 2,330 poor or near-poor households.
As of April 10, the provincial fund for the poor has received over 61 billion VND from various organisations and individuals in support of the 2025 substandard housing elimination programme. Additionally, localities across the province have mobilised resources and launched emulation campaigns, coming up with creative approaches to contribute labour and funding to the effort.
At the event, a representative of Xuan Thien Group presented 20.4 billion VND to support the removal of 340 makeshift and dilapidated houses in the province.
