Provincial leader extends congratulations to Department of Health on Vietnamese Doctors’ Day

Ha Trung Chien, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, on February 26 visited and extended congratulations to the Department of Health on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27, 1955 – 2026).

In 2025, alongside the restructuring and streamlining of its organisational apparatus, the health sector focused on fulfilling its assigned professional tasks. Over the past year, the province achieved a ratio of 9 doctors per 10,000 people and 33.6 hospital beds per 10,000 people. The rate of residents covered by health insurance reached 96.2%.

Strong measures were implemented to prevent and control infectious diseases and to carry out the Expanded Immunisation Programme, with 88.9% of children under one year old fully vaccinated. Medical facilities provided examination and treatment to over 1.5 million patients, reaching 112% of the annual target.

The Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee commended and expressed sincere appreciation for the dedication and efforts of all officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the sector.

He also urged the department to continue effectively advising the provincial People’s Committee on state management in health care and to implement solutions to protect and improve public health in the new context.

Emphasis should be placed on strengthening organisational capacity and improving the quality of human resources, striving to successfully fulfill the noble mission of treating patients and saving lives, thereby contributing to the development of Son La province.
