Provincial leader inspects operation of Son La's press agencies

Permanent Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Lo Minh Hung on January 25 led a working delegation to inspect the operation of the Son La Newspaper and the provincial Radio and Television Station, and extended New Year wishes to their staffs.

In 2023, the Editorial Board of Son La Newspaper focused on ideological and political education for its staff to build a contingent of journalists with political mettle, ethical qualities and strong professional skills, and maintain ideological and political security in the newspaper. In the year, 259 issues, and special and thematic issues of Son La Newspaper, 24 issues of Son La Photo News, and 365 issues of Son La E-Newspaper were published, popularising news, articles, and photos with diverse and rich contents covering all fields and important events of the province, contributing to orienting public opinion. Notably, Son La E-Newspaper has continuously been innovated, with the launch of new specialised pages in English language, and Thai and Mong ethnic languages, and in diverse forms of dissemination in the direction of modernity and multimedia.

In 2023, the provincial Radio and Television Station actively innovated and improved the quality of programmes, and ensured equipment to serve the province's political tasks. It produced radio and television programmes in both national and minority languages, stepped up the application of digital transformation in television products, ensured broadcast safety and ideological security, in accordance with the principles and purposes of the press agency.

Speaking at the meetings with the press agencies’ leaders, Hung acknowledged and praised their achievements in the past year. He requested them to continue to well perform their role, actively innovate themselves, and successfully complete all assigned tasks. The leader also asked the two units to pay attention to training and improving the professional capacity of their staffs, reporters, editors and technicians; focus on increasing the quality of works, reflecting information honestly, objectively and comprehensively, raising the number of articles fighting and refuting the wrongful allegations of hostile forces; and popularising the province's potential and strengths so as to contribute to realising the province's overall socio-economic development goals.
