Provincial leader inspects preparations for groundbreaking of Phieng Khoai Primary–Secondary Boarding School

Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dinh Viet on August 18 inspected preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Phieng Khoai Primary–Secondary Boarding School project in Phieng Khoai commune.

He was accompanied by member of the Standing Board of the Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Committee Trang Thi Xuan.

This is the first integrated school among 13 educational institutions to be developed in Son La under the Politburo’s conclusion on building schools in border communes. The 4.9-hectare school, funded by the provincial Department of Public Security, will serve about 1,000 students from border areas.

After the inspection, Viet praised the provincial police and related agencies for their proactive preparations. He urged the project investor to work closely with local authorities and contractors to ensure progress, quality and safety during construction.

He emphasised that the school holds special significance, serving both educational development and strengthening public confidence, while providing a foundation for growth in Vietnam’s border regions.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the school is scheduled for the morning of August 19, 2025.
