Provincial leaders pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh on army’s anniversary

A delegation of Son La province’s leaders on December 19 paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and fallen soldiers at the Tay Bac (Northwest) Square and the Son La Prison Cemetery on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of the All-People’s Defence Festival (December 22).

The ceremony was attended by representatives from the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, along with those from departments, agencies, organisations, and armed forces.

They offered incense at the temple dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh at the Tay Bac Square, expressing their sincere gratitude to the late leader for his monumental contributions to the nation’s revolutionary cause and his sound leadership, which laid a bedrock for the Vietnam People’s Army to grow.

The delegation then laid a wreath and offered incense at the monument and the graves of fallen soldiers at the Son La Prison Cemetery, honouring the steadfast revolutionaries who dedicated their lives to the cause of national liberation and defence.

Building on the revolutionary tradition, the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Son La province remain united, determined, and innovative to overcome challenges and reap successes in economic development, cultural and social progress, and national defence and security, striving to make Son La increasingly prosperous and vibrant - a tribute deserving the sacrifices by fallen heroes.
