Provincial official inspects temporary housing elimination in Muong Gion commune

A working delegation led by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dang Ngoc Hau on November 7 inspected the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Muong Gion commune. Accompanying him were representatives from the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs and Muong Gion commune.

Muong Gion commune currently has 26 households classified as poor or near-poor that are in need of support to replace or repair temporary and severely deteriorated houses. The delegation visited several of these households for on-site assessment. The survey found that these families live in difficult conditions, with makeshift and unsafe housing.

The results of the inspection will serve as the basis for the commune to propose appropriate support measures for rebuilding or repairing houses, in line with actual conditions, to be implemented in the coming period.

During the visit, Hau kindly inquired about the families’ living conditions and encouraged them to continue working hard to stabilise their livelihoods and gradually escape poverty in a sustainable manner. 

He also requested that Muong Gion commune and the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs coordinate in evaluating, appraising, and developing plans to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing in accordance with regulations, ensuring that support reaches the right beneficiaries and helps disadvantaged families achieve stable housing conditions.
