Provincial Party official inspects progress of projects at Mai Son IP

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Lo Minh Hung on March 25 inspected the progress of projects approved for investment in 2024 at the Mai Son Industrial Park.

He was accompanied by Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong, and leaders from provincial departments and the People's Committee of Mai Son district.

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lo Minh Hung works with the Mai Son IP Management Board and project investors.

Three projects that received investment approvals in 2024 at the IP are the Instant Cereal and Dried Fruit Production Factory; the BHL Son La Modified Starch Processing Factory; and the Mavin Mai Son Animal Feed and Agricultural Products Processing Complex.

The delegation inspects the progress of the Instant Cereal and Dried Fruit Production Factory project.

The Instant Cereal and Dried Fruit Production Factory project by VFI Investment-Trading- Production JSC has a production capacity of 720 tonnes of Granula cereal, 300 tonnes of powdered cereal, 2,800 tonnes of dried fruit, and 300 tonnes of concentrated juice per year, with a total investment of 39 billion VND (1.52 million USD). Construction on the factory is expected to complete before September 15, 2025. Currently, the investor is preparing the ground for building the factory.

The delegation inspects the progress of the BHL Son La Modified Starch Processing Factory project.

The BHL Son La Modified Starch Processing Factory project has a capacity of 90,000 tonnes per year, with a total investment of nearly 245 billion VND. The steel structure for the factory, office building, chemical plant, oil boiler, and wastewater treatment facilities have largely been completed. The project is expected to finish in August 2025.

The delegation inspects the progress of the Mavin Mai Son Animal Feed and Agricultural Products Processing Complex project.

The 350 billion VND Mavin Mai Son Animal Feed and Agricultural Products Processing Complex project aims to produce animal feed and process agricultural products (corn, cassava and fruits) with a capacity of 200,000 tonnes of animal feed and 300,000 tonnes of processed products per year. Currently, the investor is preparing the project's feasibility study report and plans to start construction before September 15, 2025. It plans to complete the project and put it into use before January 2028.

After inspecting the projects, Hung directed the Party Committee of the provincial People's Committee to continue leading and directing land compensation, clearance, and resettlement efforts; and focus on resolving environmental and energy issues for investors. He requested that the Mai Son IP Management Board and Mai Son district collaborate closely with relevant departments to arrange resettlement for households that need to relocate to clear land for the first phase of the project. They were asked to conduct land inventory, approve compensation plans, and complete the land recovery process.

Efforts should be made to strengthen construction site management and address violations of construction order within the industrial park, he said, noting the investors must strictly adhere to legal regulations regarding investment and construction activities and commit to completing the construction plans, ensuring quality, safety, fire prevention, and environmental protection.
