Provincial steering committee on sci-tech development meets

Lo Minh Hung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, and deputy head of the provincial Steering Committee for the Development of Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation (Steering Committee 2009), on November 25 chaired a meeting to review the committee's performance in November and to launch its key tasks for December.

In November, leadership and direction regarding the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation continued to be implemented synchronously and decisively across the province. The provincial Party Committee and its Standing Board issued documents directing the implementation of resolutions, projects, and plans of both the Party Central Committee and the province, ensuring progress and quality.

The implementation of tasks assigned by the Party Central Committee has achieved many positive results. Of the nine tasks under Decision No. 204-QĐ/TW dated November 29, 2024, of the Party Central Committee approving the Digital Transformation Project in Party agencies, seven have been completed; the remaining tasks are being carried out on schedule. Regarding the 103 tasks under the conclusions of the Central Steering Committee, the province has completed 48 tasks, while 55 others are ongoing.

For provincially assigned tasks, 33 out of 55 indicators on the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation have been achieved; 42 tasks under key action plans have been completed; and the remaining tasks are being implemented seriously.

Speaking at the meeting, Hung requested agencies, units, and localities continue to strictly implement the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in the development of national science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation; and Decision No. 204-QĐ/TW dated November 29, 2024 of the Party Central Committee approving the Digital Transformation Project in Party agencies.

He emphasised the need to focus on implementing tasks assigned by the Party Central Committee as well as tasks set out in the province’s 2025 work programmes and plans.

He assigned the Party Committee of the provincial People’s Committee to continue urging telecommunications corporations and the Ministry of Science and Technology to accelerate investment to expand broadband coverage, eliminate areas without signals or weak signals, and upgrade and expand internet bandwidth in remote, mountainous, and border areas.

He also requested the implementation and upgrading of the province’s shared information systems to ensure smooth and interconnected operations serving provincial leadership, direction, and administration.
