Provincial Vice Chairman inspects project in Bac Yen district

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Hong Minh on March 13 inspected the progress of an urban road project in Bac Yen town.

Invested by the Bac Yen district People’s Committee, the project has a total investment of nearly 200 billion VND (7.84 million USD), scheduled for implementation from 2023 to 2025. So far, 40% of the work has been completed, with nearly 60 billion VND disbursed. However, there are still some challenges and obstacles in compensation and land allocation for resettlement. Two households have not yet agreed with the compensation plan.

After conducting the on-site inspection, Minh held a working session with Bac Yen district’s leaders to address the existing issues. The district requested that the provincial People's Committee consider approving adjustments to the project, adding the content of resettlement arrangements, and allocating additional funds to cover the remaining costs. These funds would be used to pay for the completed work to the contractors and compensation for land clearance for the affected households. The goal is to complete the entire project by 2025.
