Trang Thi Xuan, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee, speaks at the working session with Muong La district.
In 2025, 414 families in Muong La are approved by the district People’s Committee to receive such housing support. Of these, 394 houses need new construction, while 20 require repairs. The district commenced the construction and repair of all 414 houses before March 15, fulfilling its set target. To date, 364 houses or 87.68% of the total have been completed. The remainders are currently under construction, expected to be done by April 15.

The total funding required is over 24.4 trillion VND (938.82 million USD). To date, more than 19.4 trillion VND has been mobilised, with over 4.6 trillion VND from the provincial Fund for the Poor, over 1 trillion VND from the district’s 5% budget savings, and nearly 13.7 trillion VND from the provincial coffer. As of April 8, more than 4.7 trillion VND has been disbursed, and an additional 4.8 trillion VND in funding has been requested.
Local authorities have made communication and mobilisation efforts, encouraging various forces and local residents to contribute a total of 22,396 workdays, 120 cubic metres of sand, 2,000 bricks, and other household items, worth a total of 3.9 trillion VND.
After the on-site inspection, Xuan commended the district’s efforts and dedication in implementing the housing programme. She asked the district Party Party Committee’s Standing Board and the district standing board for the programme, along with localities in Muong La, to continue with the inspection work and facilitate the construction, ensuring both progress and quality.
She emphasised the need to carefully review and verify the list of poor households, near-poor households, families with meritorious service to the revolution, and newly emerging poor households in order to complete the necessary papers for timely submission to the province for approval.
