Quang Ngai learns from Son La’s experience in developing fruit trees

A delegation from the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, led by Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Hien on April 3 had a working session with the People's Committee of Son La province to exchange experience in land management, crop restructuring, and the application of science and technology in the development of fruit trees on hilly land.

The Quang Ngai delegation was received by Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province, along with leaders from various provincial departments and agencies.

At the meeting, Son La provided the Quang Ngai delegation with information on the development of fruit crops, the processing and sales of agricultural products in the province, and the policies and mechanisms set forth by the provincial Party Committee and People's Committee to develop fruit trees.

At the end of 2024, the area dedicated to fruit crops in Son La province reached 82,796 hectares, with an estimated harvest of 373,589 tonnes. Many agricultural products are exported, with a total value of 190 million USD in 2024.

Speaking at the working session, Hien thanked Son La for sharing its experience in fruit crop development. The knowledge gained from Son La will serve as a foundation for Quang Ngai to apply in practice, developing fruit tree models suitable for the local conditions.

Hau assigned the Son La provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment to continue providing detailed information about policies to develop agriculture, support cooperatives, and attract investment in agricultural product processing and sale; and introduce exemplary agricultural models in localities to the guests.
