The provincial working delegation heard reports from local leaders on preparations for the elections of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, as well as preparations for the Lunar New Year 2026. Accordingly, the two localities have proactively made thorough preparations for the elections.

To date, polling areas have been designated, and voter lists have been completed and publicly posted at the offices of Party Committees, People’s Councils, People’s Committees and polling stations. At the same time, preliminary lists of candidates for commune-level People’s Councils for the 2026–2031 term have been agreed upon for further consultation with voters at their places of residence as prescribed. Information and communication on the election have been widely implemented through diverse forms; facilities are basically ensured; security and order remain stable.

For preparations for the Lunar New Year 2026, localities have received gifts from organisations and individuals and distributed them to policy beneficiary families, people with meritorious service, poor and near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances; provided rice support to households at risk of food shortages; and developed plans for spring celebration activities and measures to ensure security and order before, during and after Tet.

Thao appreciated the proactiveness and seriousness of the communes in leadership, direction and implementation of tasks related to election preparations and Tet preparations. She requested localities to continue strictly implementing directive documents of the provincial Election Steering Committee and Election Committee; closely follow timelines, contents and procedures to carry out tasks in accordance with regulations; further strengthen election-related communication and promptly address arising issues; and ensure security, order and social safety.

Attention should be paid to effectively implementing social welfare policies, especially for poor households, policy beneficiary families, people with meritorious service, war invalids and martyrs’ families, and vulnerable groups, ensuring that everyone and every household can enjoy Tet.
