Son La armed forces steadfastly enter new era

The Party Committee of the provincial Military Command on April 24 organised a seminar to summarise 10 years of implementing the Politburo’s Directive No. 05-CT/TW on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style.

The event, themed “Studying and Following Uncle Ho: Provincial Armed Forces Steadfastly Entering a New Era,” was attended by leaders of the provincial Party Committee’s Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation Board; leaders, officers, and soldiers from the provincial Military Command and subordinate units; and exemplary collectives and individuals in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style within the provincial armed forces for the 2016–2025 period.

At the seminar summarising 10 years of implementing the Politburo’s Directive No. 05-CT/TW on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style.
Role models share experience at the event.

During the seminar, outstanding collectives and individuals shared their experience and initiatives effectively applied in the tasks of their agencies and units such as improving the quality of training, drills, combat readiness, strengthening regularity and discipline, successfully fulfilling political tasks, ensuring logistics and technical support, and bettering mass mobilisation and and defence diplomacy.

At the same time, participants proposed solutions to continue implementing the study programme strictly and effectively, thus enhancing awareness among all officers, Party members, and personnel in the provincial armed forces about the significance and content of the "Worthy of the title Uncle Ho's Soldiers in the New Era” movement. They emphasised the need to integrate the study and following of President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and style into resolutions and action plans of Party committees and units; and develop and replicate good models and practices and role models. It is necessary to combine the “Determined to Win” emulation movement with campaigns and breakthroughs to improve the quality and effectiveness of task performance, contributing to building strong provincial armed forces who meet national defence requirements in the new context.

Leaders of the provincial Party Committee's Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation Board and the provincial Military Command honour outstanding collectives and individuals.

With its outstanding achievements, in 2016, the Son La provincial armed forces received the Third-Class Fatherland Defence Order from the State President for the second time. For many consecutive years, they have been awarded the flags for leading the “Determined to Win” and patriotic emulation movements by the Ministry of National Defence, the Military Region 2 Command, and the Son La provincial People’s Committee. Numerous collectives and individuals have received commendations from authorities at various levels.

On this occasion, the provincial Military Command commended and awarded 10 collectives and 20 individuals. They also proposed Military Region 2 commend four collectives and six individuals, and the provincial Party Committee honour one collective and one individual for their achievements in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and style in the 2016–2025 period.
