2023 is be the 6th year that Son La province has organized voting for typical rural industrial products at the provincial level. The voting is held every 2 years. Organisers received 67 entries from 42 establishments and businesses. Of which, there were 66 eligible, including 61 processed agricultural, forestry, fishery products and beverages; three handicraft products; and two from other groups.
According to the criteria of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and provincial regulations, the judging council has recognised 30 products as typical rural industrial products at the provincial level, including one handicraft product; 28 processed agricultural, forestry, fishery products and beverages; and one from other groups. Among these products, the council proposed 10 typical provincial-level rural industrial products be sent to in the Northern region's voting in 2024.
According to the judging council, the products participating in the 2023 voting demonstrate the nature of rural industrial products in the province. Many products combine traditional crafts with advanced technology and equipment, exploiting available local raw materials and focusing on packaging and labeling. Some products show local cultural identity.
