Son La launches campaign to promote production, sale of safe, high-quality agricultural products

The provincial Farmers’ Union, in coordination with the provincial Youth Union, the provincial Women’s Union, and the Son La city People’s Committee, on June 13 launched a campaign to promote the production and trade of safe, high-quality agricultural products and food for community health and sustainable development in 2025.

At the launch ceremony of the campaign.

In recent years, both domestically produced and imported foods in Vietnam have increased significantly. The use of additives in food production has become widespread, raising concerns about safety and quality. Many types of meat sold on the market have not undergone proper veterinary inspection. Furthermore, the production of counterfeit and substandard food and beverages - often using incorrect ingredients or deviating from approved technological processes - remains a serious issue.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong speaks at the event.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong called on relevant sectors and organisations to strengthen state management of food safety. This should go hand-in-hand with communication campaigns aimed at changing awareness and habits, from the community level down to each individual.

He emphasised the need to enhance inspection, supervision, and monitoring to ensure food safety and security; strictly handle violations by individuals and businesses; and proactively prevent negative acts and group interests in the food safety sector.

Delegates sign a commitment to promote the production and trade of safe, high-quality agricultural products for public health and sustainable development.

At the launch event, the provincial Farmers’ Union, the provincial Youth Union, the provincial Women’s Union, and the management board of the downtown Son La market signed a commitment on this work.
