The provincial People's Committee held a campaign to support residents affected by natural disasters in Son La province on July 31.

 

The provincial People's Committee launches a campaign to support people affected by natural disasters.

The launching ceremony was attended by Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, and head of the provincial Delegation to the National Assembly Delegation; standing members of the provincial People's Committee, leaders of provincial departments, agencies and sectors.

Due to the impact of Storm Wipha, prolonged heavy rains and flash floods have caused serious damage to human lives and property. As of July 31, the province had reported six deaths, 324 houses affected, and dozens of essential infrastructure works damaged. The total estimated damage caused by floods was over 104.6 billion VND (3.99 million USD).

Responding to the call of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, promoting the spirit of mutual love and support, "the rich help the poor", the provincial People's Committee launched the campaign. At the launch, delegates donated over 87 million VND. All donations will be transferred to the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to support natural disaster victims, contributing to the early stabilisation of their life.
