Son La city has been selected as one of 12 localities nationwide to hold a model launching ceremony, which saw the participation of leaders of the Party, the State, the Ministry of Public Security and the province.

The Law on Forces Participating in the Protection of Security and Order at the Grassroots Level took from July 1, 2024. To bring the law into life, the provincial People's Council issued a resolution stipulating the establishment, content, funding levels, and conditions to ensure the operation of the grassroots security and order protection teams.

The provincial People's Committee issued a decision featuring the number of grassroots security and order protection teams and their members in the province, ensuring conditions for these forces to operate as soon as the law takes effect.

The province currently has 2,248 grassroots security and order protection teams in 2,248 villages, hamlets, sub-areas, and residential areas in 204 communes, wards, and towns. Each team includes one leader, one deputy leader and one member.

The launching ceremony is an opportunity for agencies, units and the masses to better understand the forces involved in protecting security and order at the grassroots levels, and encourage the forces to actively carry out assigned tasks, contributing to ensuring security and order, and keeping the peaceful and happy life of the people.
