Son La leaders offer incense in tribute to fallen border guards

On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 –2025), leaders of Son La province on July 27 offered incense at the Memorial of Heroic Martyrs of the provincial Border Guard in Chieng Khuong commune.

They included Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, and head of the provincial Delegation to the National Assembly; Trang Thi Xuan, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee; and leaders of provincial departments and sectors.

The memorial is the resting place of 58 officers and soldiers of the People’s Armed Police (now the Border Guard) of Son La province, who heroically sacrificed their lives in the cause of safeguarding the nation’s sacred sovereignty and border security.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, the delegates laid a wreath, observed a minute of silence, and lit incense sticks in remembrance of the fallen heroes. Their actions expressed profound respect and boundless gratitude for those who gave their lives to defend every sacred inch of the nation’s borderland.
