Son La looks into streamlining organisational structure of political system

Hoang Van Nghiem, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, head of the provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, and head of Steering Committee 398 on reorganising and streamlining the apparatus of the provincial political system, on October 30 chaired a meeting of the committee to discuss the internal restructuring of administrative agencies, public service units, and state-owned enterprises in the province.

Attending the meeting were Lo Minh Hung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; Cha A Cua, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Duc Thanh, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and head of the provincial Party Committee’s Organisation Board; along with members of Steering Committee 398.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed and provided feedback on five main groups of proposals, including the internal restructuring of the Office of the provincial People’s Committee; the reorganisation of construction investment project management boards under the provincial People’s Committee; the dissolution of the provincial Centre for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, and the transfer of its functions and duties to relevant departments for establishing new public service units under those departments; the restructuring and merger of public service units under the Departments of Agriculture and Environment, Science and Technology, Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Home Affairs;  and the establishment of public service units under commune-level People’s Committees.

In his concluding remarks, the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee agreed with the proposed plans for reorganising administrative agencies, public service units, and state-owned enterprises in the province. He assigned the provincial Party Committee’s Organisation Board to finalise the proposals for submission to the provincial Party Committee and its Standing Board for consideration and approval.
