Son La outstanding youth union members honoured

The Son La provincial Youth Union on March 20 held a ceremony to honour outstanding youth union officials and members, and mark the 95th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – 2026).

Attendees included Cha A Cua, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; among other officials; along with 45 outstanding youth union officials and members.

At the event, participants reviewed the proud traditions of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. March 26, 1931 has become a landmark for Vietnam’s youth, marking the formation of the union.

Outstanding youth union officials receive certificates of merit 

Alongside youth union organisations nationwide, young people from Son La’s ethnic communities have increasingly asserted the role of the union across multiple fields. In recent years, youth union work and youth movements in the province have closely followed political tasks and local realities, continuously renewing content and methods while focusing on educating young people about revolutionary ideals, ethics and cultural values. Efforts have also been made to promote the proactiveness, creativity and pioneering spirit of youth union members in contributing to local socio-economic development, engaging in community volunteer activities and serving national defence.

Outstanding youth union officials and members are honoured

In 2025, the province encouraged more than 2,000 youth union members for volunteer activities, delivering over 6,000 meaningful projects. They also repaired and built more than 3,500 km of rural roads, helped eliminate over 500 temporary houses, and carried out various public welfare projects with total social funding exceeding 15 billion VND (570,082 USD).

Youth union members contributed more than 1,800 ideas and initiatives, with 112 start-up projects supported for implementation, while over 1,990 young people enlisted in early 2026. Son La’s youth are increasingly asserting their mettle, sense of responsibility and trust in the Party and the people, standing ready to contribute to fulfilling the province’s development goals in the new phase.
