As of May 5, Van Ho district had actively implemented Component 1 of the project, which remains on schedule, with the goal of completing it by May 19.
The component covers compensation, support, resettlement, and site clearance in Van Ho district, including the construction of four resettlement sites, relocation of power lines, mine and explosive ordnance clearance, and compensation and support for site clearance.
For Component 2 regarding compensation, support, resettlement, and site clearance within Moc Chau township, on May 2, the provincial People’s Committee approved an adjustment to increase the component’s total investment from 36.9 billion VND to 63.2 billion VND (2.43 million USD).
So far, Moc Chau township has approved the first compensation plan for 15 out of the 56 affected households. Approval for the remaining 41 households is currently about 12 days behind schedule.
xComponent 3, which features construction of transport infrastructure, is progressing on schedule.
To date, the provincial Transport Project Management Board has approved the technical design for the section from Km74+500 to Km85+262, which will serve the groundbreaking.
The remaining section, from Km53 to Km74+500, has been submitted to the Department for Roads of Vietnam for appraisal. The unit is currently reviewing bids and selecting contractors for construction and supervision consultancy.

In addition, preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Hoa Binh – Moc Chau expressway project, such as producing a presentation video, organising an art performance, and arranging guest reception, are on schedule. The ceremony is slated for May 18 morning in Van Son ward, Moc Chau township.

Speaking at the meeting, Minh urged Moc Chau township to promptly complete the compensation, support, and site clearance plans for the remaining 41 households, and to coordinate with relevant departments to finalise land allocation and land recovery procedures.
Van Ho district was requested to accelerate land surveying, cadastral mapping, and the development of compensation and clearance plans.
Committee members were asked to focus on reviewing and preparing all necessary conditions to ensure the success of the project’s groundbreaking ceremony.
