Son La prepares for expanded border work meeting with Lao provinces

Trang Thi Xuan, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee, chaired a conference on May 5 to listen to a report on the preparation for the 2025 expanded border work meeting between Son La province and Houaphanh and Luang Prabang provinces of Laos.

At the meeting on preparations for organising the 2025 expanded border work meeting between Son La and Houaphanh and Luang Prabang provinces.

The meeting is scheduled to take place from May 8-10 at the provincial Administrative Centre, with focus on assessing the results of border work implementation between the parties in the 2024-2025 period, signing the minutes of the meeting, and rewarding organisations and individuals with outstanding achievements in this work.

At the conference, leaders of the provincial Department of External Affairs, the provincial Border Guard Command and related units reported on the preparation work, and agreed on the number of guests, measures to ensure security and order, art performances, and logistics work.

Emphasising that this is an important political event, Xuan requested departments and sectors, according to their assigned functions and tasks, to well prepare all necessary conditions for the meeting; coordinate in making a report summarising the joint border work; and work with neighbouring provinces to develop performance reports to propose rewards.
