Son La School of Politics achieves Level 1 standards

The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, in coordination with the Standing Board of the Son La provincial Party Committee, on September 13 held a ceremony to announce the decision recognising the Son La School of Politics for achieving Level 1 standards.

Attending the ceremony were Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theory Council; Tran Quoc Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dien Bien provincial Party Committee; and representatives from political schools in the Northwestern Emulation Cluster including Tuyen Quang, Lai Chau, and Dien Bien provinces.

From Son La province, attendees included Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; leaders of the provincial People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; representatives from various provincial departments and agencies; former provincial leaders; leaders of local communes and wards; and current and former leaders, staff, lecturers, and students of the Son La School of Politics.

Implementing Regulation No. 11-QD/TW dated May 19, 2021, of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat on standard political schools, the Son La School of Politics advised the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee’s Task Force to develop and issue Project No. 08-DA/TU dated January 19, 2023, on building and developing the school to meet standards for the 2022-2025 period, with a vision to 2030. The project sets the goal of achieving Level 1 standards by 2025 and aiming for Level 2 by 2030.

To implement the project, the school developed specific plans and implemented a wide range of measures such as streamlining the organisational structure and standardising staff and lecturers; innovating training content and methods; promoting scientific research and reality summarisation; fostering a political school culture; and investing in infrastructure and modern equipment. To date, the Son La School of Politics has met Level 1 standards, achieving all six groups of criteria and 55 out of 55 targets. Among these, eight targets exceed Level 1 standards and approach Level 2.

At the ceremony, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang presented the certificate of recognition and the standard school symbol to the Son La School of Politics.

On behalf of the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La, Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, presented flowers to congratulate the school.
