A leader of the Department of Agriculture and Environment reports on the progress of projects at the meeting.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, to surmount the aftermath of Typhoon Prapiroon and Yagi, the provincial People's Committee has approved 21 projects for implementation in 2025, including 16 resettlement projects and five disaster recovery ones. The projects aim to relocate 648 households in Bac Yen, Thuan Chau, Muong La, Quynh Nhai, Van Ho, Mai Son, Song Ma, Thuan Chau and Phu Yen districts, and Moc Chau township, with a total investment of 433.4 billion VND (16.73 million USD). Of which, 250 billion VND comes from the central budget and 183.4 billion VND from the local budget.

Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, speaks at the meeting.

For the projects using the central budget, 12 out of 14 project dossiers have been received; 11 out of 14 projects have undergone field inspections, while two (one from Van Ho district and one from Quynh Nhai district) have not yet submitted their dossiers. For the projects funded by the local budget, five out of seven project dossiers have been received, and four have experienced field inspections. One project from Bac Yen district has not yet submitted its dossier.

Nguyen Dinh Viet, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, addresses the meeting.

In his speech, Viet urged departments, agencies, and district and township People's Committees to actively cooperate and expedite the completion of project dossiers in order to accelerate the evaluation process; resolve any challenges or obstacles encountered during implementation; and strive to complete bidding processes to select contractors by June 15, so that the projects can start construction as soon as possible.

Regarding the resettlement project in Ta Xua commune, Bac Yen district, relevant departments and agencies should meet to discuss and propose optimal solutions to ensure the safety of the residents while meeting the local development planning requirements.

It is also important to continue efforts to persuade the people in project areas to move to safer places, and resolutely handle any business or accommodation activities during rainy and flood seasons, he stressed.
