Son La works to send more workers abroad

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Dang Ngoc Hau on May 6 worked with several departments, sectors and units involved in sending Son La residents to work abroad under contracts in 2025.

Attending the hybrid meeting were leaders of some provincial departments and sectors; and representatives from the Tourist, Trade and Labour Export Joint Stock Company (TTLC), and colleges in the province.

According to the 2025 plan, Son La province strives to send 200 people to work abroad. Departments, agencies and localities have coordinated to concertedly, effectively and drastically implement tasks and solutions from the provincial to grassroots levels; organised conferences on consultations, dissemination, counseling, career guidance, and vocational training in the districts of Thuan Chau, Song Ma, Muong La, Sop Cop and Quynh Nhai, for over 700 people. To date, 20 individuals have registered for labour export. TTLC is preparing to send workers for health check-ups.

Concluding the event, Hau requested departments, sectors and localities to continue promoting the dissemination of directives from authorities at all levels on sending labourers to work abroad; and have plans for training, selection, classification and streaming of workers, especially students after graduation.

He also emphasised the need to effectively implement credit policies for citizens working abroad under contracts as prescribed; support them with documents, methods, and procedures for borrowing capital; promptly disburse capital for them, with an aim to exceed the set target.
