Song Ma town urban development programme until 2030 approved

The provincial People's Committee on April 3 issued Decision No. 550/QD-UBND approving the urban development programme for Song Ma town, Song Ma district until 2030.

According to the Song Ma town master plan, it covers over 1,504 hectares, including the entire administrative boundary of Song Ma town (431.58 hectares) and over 1,072 hectares in Na Nghiu commune. The land area for urban development by 2030 is about 452 hectares. By 2030, Song Ma town aims to become a tier-4 urban area, with a population of 25,000 people, the rate of non-agricultural labor reaching 80%, civilized streets accounting for 40% of the total main streets, 70% treated urban wastewater meeting technical standards, and the rate of poor households under the multidimensional poverty standard hitting 2%.

Implementing the master plan, Song Ma district will mobilise resources to carry out investment programmes and projects to develop priority infrastructure and urban landscape architecture, meeting the standards and criteria for urban classification; develop and attract investment in urban area projects; complete the missing and unmet criteria of tier-4 urban area. At the same time, it will review and develop contents related to urban classification in line with regulations, planning schemes and urban development orientations. Periodically every year, the district will assess the current urban situation, summarise the results of programme implementation, and report to the provincial People's Committee.
