To Hieu scholarships awarded to national excellent students, poor pupils with good performance

The Son La provincial Association for Promoting Education on March 7 organised a ceremony to present To Hieu scholarship to students who won national high school exams for the 2024-2025 academic year and disadvantaged pupils who excel in learning from schools named after hero To Hieu.

The event was held in honor of the 113th birth anniversary (1912-2025) and the 81st death anniversary (March 7, 1944 - 2025) of the revolutionary and martyr.

Attending the ceremony were Trang Thi Xuan, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee; and leaders from departments and agencies, and the Son La People's Committee.

Before the event, the delegates and students who received To Hieu scholarships offered incense to the fallen heroes at the Son La Prison Martyrs' Cemetery.

The To Hieu Scholarship Fund was established on January 10, 2019, under Decision No. 82/QĐ-UBND issued by the provincial People's Committee. To date, the scholarship fund, named after revolutionary and martyr To Hieu, has accumulated over 16 billion VND (627,328 USD). In addition to rewarding students at all levels for their outstanding academic achievements, the fund has also honoured adults engaged in lifelong learning, skilled workers, outstanding researchers, athletes with high achievements, and elderly individuals who have made significant contributions to study promotion activities. Over the past six years, the fund's management board has awarded 5,446 prizes, with a total value of over 4 billion VND, and donated 367 bicycles.

Speaking at the ceremony, Trang Thi Xuan sincerely thanked organisations and individuals who have sponsored and supported the To Hieu Scholarship Fund, helping it operate effectively, thus promoting the study encouragement movement and building a learning society in the province. She congratulated the students receiving the scholarships and expressed her hope that they would continue to strive for excellence in their study, achieve high results, and become valuable citizens who contribute to the development of their homeland, Son La.

The provincial Association for Promoting Education awarded its certificates of merit to 34 students who won prizes in the 2024-2025 national exams for excellent students; granted 113 scholarships to students overcoming difficulties and excelling in learning at schools named after To Hieu, with a total value of over 82 million VND; and presented gold plaques honouring study promotion to organisations and individuals who have supported the To Hieu Scholarship Fund.

Scholarships are presented to poor students with outstanding academic achievements.
