Van Ho district’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee holds 3rd congress

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Van Ho district held its 3rd Congress for the 2024-2029 tenure on June 4-5, with the attendance of 200 delegates representing ethnic groups in the district.

During the past tenure, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Van Ho district coordinated with political and social organisations and communications agencies to encourage people from all walks of life to implement the guidelines of the Party, the State policies and laws, conventions of residential areas; promoted campaigns and emulation movements; consolidated, strengthened and promoted the strength of great national unity.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front committees from district to grassroots levels promoted its role in enforcing democracy, representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people; practicing social monitoring and criticism; preventing and combating corruption and waste, contributing to building pure and strong Party organisations and administration.

They also coordinated to organise voter meetings for the provincial delegation of National Assembly deputies and the delegations of People's Councils at all levels. They supervised 68 meetings focusing on areas of people's concern and made 358 recommendations to competent agencies to adjust current regulations.

Responding to the campaign "All people unite to build new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas"; The VFF committees at all levels in the district coordinated with political and social organisations to persuade members and people from all walks of life to donate over 9,169 sq.m of land and 37,932 working days; raised more than 63 billion VND (2.5 million USD) for the "For the Poor" Fund; supported the repair and renovation of 1,367 "Great Solidarity" houses with a total amount of nearly 54 billion VND; and provided Tet gifts worth over 4.8 billion VND in total for 12,925 local poor households.

With the spirit of "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Development", in the 2024-2029 term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Van Ho district and its member organisations will continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation, diversify forms of popularisation and  mobilisation to build and firmly consolidate the all-people great solidarity; perform well the function of representing and protecting the people's legitimate rights and interests; promote democracy, social monitoring and criticism; prevent corruption and waste; actively participate in building pure and strong Party organisations and administration; strengthen consensus, promote socio-economic development, and build new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas, for the goal of developing Van Ho district rapidly and sustainably.

The congress appointed 50 members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Van Ho district for the 2024-2029 term; and 15 official and two alternate delegates to the 12th Congress of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee for the 2024-2029 tenure.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the district People's Committee awarded the certificates of merit to five collectives and 20 individuals. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Van Ho district presented the certificates of merit to 15 individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2019-2024 period.
