Vice Chairman of provincial People’s Committee inspects progress of projects in Chieng Coi and Chieng Sinh wards

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Minh Tien, together with a working delegation, inspected the progress of several projects in Chieng Coi and Chieng Sinh wards on November 13.

The Vice Chairman inspected the flood drainage project in the Chieng Sinh area toward the centre of the former Son La city, covering the section from the D&T trade centre in Group 10, Quyet Tam ward (now Chieng Sinh ward) to Quyet Thang intersection, with a total length of 1.4 km; and the section from Quyet Thang intersection to the An Phu urban area, which is over 200 meters long, located in Chieng Coi ward.

The project has a total investment of nearly 80 billion VND (3.04 million USD), implemented from 2023 to 2025. Up to now, the main components such as the flood drainage canal, bridges over the canal, cross-road drainage culverts, and roadside drainage ditches have been basically completed, with the goal of finishing the entire project in 2025.

For the Chieng Sinh – Chieng Ngan road project (section km2+327m – km7+527m), after taking over the project from the former Son La city People’s Committee, Chieng Sinh ward has focused on compensation and site clearance, and has coordinated with construction units to accelerate progress. To date, a total of over 64 billion VND has been allocated, with 45.6 billion VND disbursed, reaching 71.2% of the plan.

The Son La city Cemetery Park project was given in-principle approval under Decision No. 1868/QD-UBND dated September 9, 2024. The project covers an area of over 164 hectares across Phuong, Na Ngan, and Ka Lap hamlets, Chieng Ngan commune (now Chieng Sinh ward). The investor - Phuc Lac Vien Son La Investment Joint Stock Company - is currently working with relevant departments and agencies to appraise and approve the project, finalize design drawings and cost estimates for Phase A1, and select construction contractors.

After the field inspection, the Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee requested project investors to actively coordinate in communication work to gain public consensus and complete site clearance for handover. Construction contractors were instructed to increase work shifts and speed up progress while ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance.

He also urged relevant departments, agencies, and wards to strengthen coordination, promptly resolve obstacles, and accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital according to completed work volume.
