Vietnam Youth Federation of Thuan Chau district convenes sixth congress

The Vietnam Youth Federation of Thuan Chau district held its sixth congress for the 2024-2029 tenure on July 17-18, bringing together 121 delegates representing more than 7,000 youths across the locality.

During the 2019-2024 term, the district federation has seen improvements in terms of both scale and quality. Its branches have admitted 2,500 new members, organised five "I love my Fatherland" journeys at the district level, and coordinated in holding 58 dialogues with youths in communes and towns. Many role models have been praised, contributing to promoting the beautiful image of Vietnamese youth in the new era.

Each year, the district federation’s chapters respond to "Youth Month" and "Summer Youth Volunteer" campaigns, as well as "Winter Volunteer" and "Spring Volunteer" programmes; and maintain "Volunteer Saturday" and "Green Sunday" drives, attracting crowds of members.

Over the past five years, they have repaired more than 35 km of rural roads, cleared over 59 km of sewers, and planted more than 40,000 trees. They have also coordinated in building 12 schools, two houses, and one cultural house for the La Ha ethnic minority group, with total funding of over 4 billion VND (157,993 USD). Meanwhile, eight playgrounds worth over 400 million VND have been presented to children in remote and disadvantaged areas.

With the slogan "Innovation - Creativity - Solidarity - Aspiration - Development", the district federation will focus on improving operational efficiency, and intensifying connectivity, support, and digital transformation application in coordinating and guiding voluntary activities of youth clubs and teams.

It strives to support at least three startup projects by 2029, give career advice and introduce jobs to 1,000 youths, maintain two youth clubs and teams operating effectively across fields, coordinate in the building of five youth projects, and build and maintain at least three good economic models run by young people.

After negotiations, the congress elected 35 members of the district Vietnam Youth Federation Committee for the sixth tenure, and agreed to send 20 official and two alternate delegates to the sixth congress of the Vietnam Youth Federation of Son La province for 2024-2029.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Youth Federation Committee of Son La province presented certificates of merit to four collectives and four individuals. The People’s Committee and the Vietnam Youth Federation of the district also gave the certificates of merit to 13 collectives and 13 individuals in recognition of their outstanding performance in the past tenure.
