"Volunteering to build new-style rural areas" Day, "Green Sunday" launched

The Son La provincial Youth Union, in collaboration with the youth unions of the Ministry of Finance, the Vietnam Airlines Corporation, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, the Vietnam National Cai Luong (reformed opera) Theatre, on March 23 launched the "Volunteering to build new-style rural areas" Day and the first "Green Sunday" in Youth Month 2025.

At the programme, the provincial Youth Union, the Son La city Youth Union and units presented a "Children's playground" project, worth 20 million VND (780 USD) to Chieng Ngan A Primary - Secondary School; a "Plastic waste prevention" model; and a "Lighting up the hamlet" project worth 30 million VND to youth union members and people of Chieng Ngan commune. In addition, 20 gifts were presented to poor households and children in difficult circumstances in the commune.

On the same day, grassroots youth unions in the province simultaneously organised activities in response to the "Volunteering to build new-style rural areas" Day, such as collecting waste, cleaning the environment, removing leaflets, dredging sewers, clearing bushes; cleaning up temples, memorials, stele houses, and martyr cemeteries; planting trees and caring for flower routes; and cleaning up the premises of agencies and units.

This is a series of practical activities during Youth Month 2025 and in celebration of the 94th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - 2025).
