Voters express confidence in action programmes of candidates for 16th NA

The Standing Board of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Son La province held voter meetings on February 26 with candidates for the 16th National Assembly (NA) at the Election Constituency No. 3.

Attending the events were Nguyen Thi Hong, member of the Party Central Committee and Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV); Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; candidates for the 16th legislature at the constituency; and voters from Moc Chau, Moc Son, Thao Nguyen and Van Son wards.

The Standing Board of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee presents the brief biographies of candidates for the 16th National Assembly at the Election Constituency No. 3.

At the meetings, the Standing Board of the provincial VFF Committee presented the brief biographies of the candidates at the Election Constituency No. 3, including the Governor of the SBV, and four other candidates.

The candidates presented their action programmes to voters and expressed their commitment to staying close to voters and the people, listening to their concerns, aspirations and recommendations, and truthfully conveying these to the National Assembly.

The action programmes focused on actively contributing to the improvement of institutions for economic development, as well as monetary and credit policies serving sustainable growth; strengthening supervision and enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of state management; ensuring social security; developing education, healthcare and infrastructure; safeguarding national defence and security; supporting farmers in production; and promoting tourism development.

In a democratic and candid atmosphere, voters expressed their confidence in and agreement with the candidates’ action programmes. They also voiced expectations that if elected to the 16th National Assembly, they will closely follow their mandates and fulfill their responsibilities as representatives of the people; propose to competent authorities investment in infrastructure for the Moc Chau National Tourist Area; develop inter-regional transport routes and connections to tourist destinations.

They will also support the development of high-tech and organic agriculture; pay greater attention to social security; and promulgate policies for ethnic minority and mountainous areas, thereby improving living standards and achieving sustainable poverty reduction for local residents.

On behalf of the candidates, Hong thanked voters for their trust in those nominated for the 16th legislative body. She affirmed that if elected, she will fully promote her capacity, expertise and professional experience to fulfill the role of a people’s representative; regularly listen to and synthesise voters’ opinions and recommendations, and propose to the NA the issuance of policies to promote socio-economic development and ensure national defence and security in the locality.
