Winners of 9th provincial Technical Innovation Contest honoured
The organising committee of the 9th provincial Technical Innovation Contest held an award ceremony on December 3, with Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the committee Nguyen Thanh Cong attending.
The organisers received 36 solutions spanning various sectors from 74 authors and co-authors representing 36 agencies and units across the province. After evaluation, 22 solutions were awarded prizes, comprising two first, three second, five third, and 12 consolation prizes. Among them, 10 were selected to represent Son La at the 18th National Technical Innovation Contest (2024–2025).
Addressing the event, Cong called on all sectors to foster relevant emulation movements, and the winners to continue their research and develop high-quality technical solutions with significant scientific and practical values. He suggested a focus on agriculture, health care, and renewable energy.
On this occasion, the provincial People’s Committee presented the certificates of merit to the first-prize winners; the provincial Federation of Labour to the second-prize winners, and the provincial Youth Union and the provincial Association of Promoting Education to the third-prize winners.
Besides, five collectives and five individuals with outstanding achievements in the contest were also honoured.
On this occasion, the organising committee launched the 10th edition of the contest in 2026.
The Youth Committee of the provincial Department of Public Security and the Phu Yen district Youth Union, in collaboration with Truong Chan Sang from the Binh Duong provincial Youth Federation, held the groundbreaking ceremony for the “Beautiful School for Children” project No. 59 at the Suoi O hamlet branch of the Quang Huy Primary School.
A delegation from the Son La provincial Department of Public Security led by its Deputy Director Colonel Vi Quyen Chu on December 19 visited and had a working session with its counterpart of Laos’ Bokeo province. The delegation was hosted by Colonel Khamdeng Vannasith, Deputy Director of the Bokeo Department of Public Security.

National Steering Committee 515, in collaboration with Military Region 2 and Son La province, on December 17 organised the inauguration ceremony for the restoration and renovation of the martyrs' cemetery at Miliary Hospital 6 in the Northwestern Military Region.

In 2024, Son La province continues to restructure its agricultural sector, and promote the application of science and technology, and high technology in production, thus contributing to increasing productivity, quality, value, and competitiveness of products.
The Son La provincial Department of Public Security, in collaboration with the provincial Border Guard Command, is organizing a training course on drug prevention and control for specialized forces from the three Lao provinces of Houaphanh, Luang Prabang, and Bokeo.
