Work begins on Chieng Khuong Primary – Secondary Boarding School

The provincial Military Command on October 22 held the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Chieng Khuong Primary – Secondary Boarding School in Chieng Khuong commune.

This is one of 13 inter-level schools being implemented in Son La province under Conclusion Notice No. 81-TB/TW of the Politburo regarding the investment in building schools in border communes.

Attending the ceremony were leaders of the provincial Military Command, along with teachers, students, and local residents of Chieng Khuong commune.

At the event, a representative from the provincial Military Command - the project’s investor - said that the school will be located across Bua and Tan Lap hamlets, with a total construction area of nearly 5 hectares, designed to accommodate approximately 1,000 students.

The project will include key facilities such as classrooms, a library, an administrative building, boarding houses for students and on-site staff housing, a canteen, a multipurpose hall, outdoor sports grounds, and supporting infrastructure.

These facilities will meet the educational, living, and physical training needs of students. The construction will be carried out by the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUD), with completion set for July 30, 2026.

The provincial Military Command called agencies at all levels, sectors, local authorities, and residents of Chieng Khuong commune to create the most favourable conditions for the construction, coordinate closely on site clearance and handover, ensure public order and security, and be ready to provide labour and material support to help the project meet its scheduled timeline.

The construction unit, HUD, was urged to uphold a high sense of responsibility, strictly comply with construction investment regulations, mobilise manpower, materials, and machinery as needed, and organise the construction process scientifically and efficiently, ensuring the project is delivered with the highest standards of safety, quality, progress, effectiveness, and sustainability.
