Hang Dong commune preserves ethnic cultural heritage

Hang Dong commune in Bac Yen district is home to 330 households, with the Mong ethnic group making up 97% of the population. To preserve traditional cultural values, the commune has encouraged residents to maintain their handicrafts, including weaving, embroidery with traditional motifs, crafting panpipes and flutes, and making traditional carrying baskets.

At the same time, the commune has promoted the preservation of traditional Mong house architecture and established four art performance teams.

These groups regularly organise events to showcase and promote the unique cultural features of the Mong people, creating distinctive cultural products that enhance community life and contribute to the development of experiential tourism to attract visitors.
