Youth project kicks off in Nam Gion commune

The provincial Youth Union on March 9 commenced the construction of a cultural house for the Khang ethnic community in Nam Gion commune, Muong La district.

The project is located in the Pa Mong Pa Pu hamlet, covering 145 square meters. The cultural house is designed in the traditional stilt house style of the Khang ethnic group, with auxiliary facilities such as a gate, fences, stone embankment, lighting system, and a campus with flower beds and trees. The total investment is over 1 billion VND (39,200 USD), with completion slated for October this year.

This is the 14th among 16 community cultural houses built under the programme “Footsteps for the community,” launched by the Vietnam Youth Federation and supported by Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank).

 The provincial Youth Union leaders present a gift to the Party Committee and the People's Committee of Nam Gion commune, Muong La district.

 

The work will create a space for collecting, researching, preserving, and promoting the values of ethnic cultural heritage, linked to the goal of socio-economic development in the locality. In addition, it will serve as a place for the Khang people in the commune to gather, preserve, and uphold the beautiful cultural values of their group.
