The finale of the "The Voice of the White Bauhinia Region" Festival 2024 took place at the Moc Chau Island Tourist Area in Moc Chau district in the evening of June 29, attracting crowds.

Son La is a land rich in revolutionary traditions, with a lot of historical relic sites from the feudal period to the resistance wars against the French colonialists and US imperialists, which are evidence for the heroic times of the nation. Those sites have been preserved and promoted, becoming "red addresses" to educate revolutionary traditions for younger generations.

The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on April 16 organised an art exchange programme to welcome writers and artists of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations on their journey named "Through the Northwest - Back to Dien Bien".

Pi Toong commune, Muong La district on April 12 organised the 2024 Pang A Festival and a cultural space of the La Ha ethnic group. The festival is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 75th founding anniversary of the district Party Organisation (June 15, 1949 - 2024); and 45 years of moving the district centre to It Ong town (1979-2024).

During March 25 and 26, in Ta Vat hamlet, the provincial Museum coordinated with Mai Son district’s Phieng Pan commune in surveying, researching, and documenting the Ksaisatip ritual of the Xinh Mun ethnic group.

Moc Chau district March 24 held the Rain Praying Festival 2024, a traditional festival of the Thai ethnic group recognised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national intangible cultural heritage in January this year.

Nearly 500 artisans and amateur artists performed Xoe, a folk dance of the Thai ethnic group, during the first Xoe Thai Dance Festival, which took place in Muong Khoa commune, Bac Yen district on March 22-23.

Every March, the mountains and forests of the Northwest region are filled with the white Ban (Bauhinia) flower. This is the source of inspiration for many writers and artists in Son La province to create meaningful painting, photography, poetry, literature and music works. These works have contributed to promoting local images, inviting tourists to the mountainous province of Son La to contemplate the pure beauty of the Ban flower.

Displaying ethnic cultural spaces is an activity held throughout the Van Ho Ban (Bauhinia) Flower Festival 2024, from March 15-17, in Chieng Khoa commune, Van Ho district.
