The project broke ground in early 2023 with funding of 5 billion VND (about 191,000 USD) provided by Son La province. The two-storey facility comprises five rooms, including three classrooms, one library and one reception room.

This is one of the politics-administration schools in six northern Lao provinces namely Phongsaly, Luang Prabang, Sayaboury, Luang Namtha, Bokeo and Oudomxay that maintain close professional training ties with Son La.

Hoang Van Nghiem, Secretary of the Son La provincial Party Committee, speaks at the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nghiem stressed that education, training, cadre development and the cultivation of high-quality human resources have always been identified as key and particularly important tasks for local and national development.

For this reason, Son La has consistently attached importance to cooperation with its Lao counterpart in this field. The completion and handover of the classroom building at the Oudomxay provincial School of Politics and Administration vividly prove that spirit of cooperation, he said.

Son La province presents a gift to the school.

The project not only meets the urgent demand for facilities, helping improve the quality of teaching and learning at the school, but also carries profound political and humane significance. It stands as a gift symbolising the sentiments and solidarity of the Party organisation, authorities and people of Son La toward personnel training and development in Oudomxay.

Bounkhong Lachiemphone, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Oudomxay province, speaks at the event.
