Among the Son La delegates was Nguyen Manh Hung, Member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
Participants shared information on the socio-economic development, defence and security situation, as well as trade union activities and workers’ movements in their respective provinces.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Son La provincial Federation of Labour stressed that strengthening exchanges, sharing experience and providing mutual support in trade union activities is an important task that contributes to consolidating friendship and solidarity between trade union organisations of the two countries.
Over the years, the Son La federation has effectively maintained coordination with its Lao counterparts, while working closely with the Border Guard force to disseminate information and encourage trade union members and local residents to strictly comply with regulations on border and marker management and protection, contributing to building a border of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.
The Lao representatives expressed their appreciation for the warm reception by Son La province and their wish for the Son La Federation of Labour to continue supporting the training and professional development of full-time trade union officials, sharing experience in building databases and promoting digital transformation, and stepping up exchanges in diverse forms to further strengthen the traditional friendship and special solidarity between the two peoples.
The sides consented to further strengthen cooperation, regularly exchange information and share experience in trade union organisation and activities, particularly approaches suited to the requirements of trade union work in the new situation.
They agreed to continue arranging reciprocal visits by delegations for exchanges and experience sharing. At the same time, they will coordinate in the implementation of practical exchange activities to further strengthen solidarity and the special friendship between the two countries.
