Son La leaders extend New Year greetings to Lao Embassy in Hanoi

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dang Ngoc Hau on April 7 led a delegation to visit the Lao Embassy in Hanoi to extend congratulations on the occasion of Laos' traditional Bunpimay (New Year) festival (April 14–16). The delegation was received by Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh.

At the embassy headquarters, on behalf of the Party Organisation, authorities, and people of Son La province, Vice Chairman Hau extended New Year greetings to the Lao leaders, as well as to Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh and all staff of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam. He emphasised that the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos continue to develop in an increasingly positive manner, including the cooperative relationship between Son La and the northern provinces of Laos.

He expressed his hope that in 2026, cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general, and between Son La and northern Lao provinces in particular, will be further strengthened through practical, effective, and in-depth activities. This will help improve the material and spiritual well-being of the people of both countries, while reinforcing and deepening the long-standing traditional friendship between the two nations.
