Over 290,000 tourists visit Son La province during Reunification Day and May Day holidays

During the Reunification Day and May Day holidays from April 27 to May 1, localities throughout Son La province welcomed over 290,000 visitors, with an estimated revenue of 320 billion VND (12.63 million USD), up 12% and 10% over the same period last year, respectively.

The 5-day holidays created favourable conditions for localities to organise activities to welcome tourists. The room occupancy rate at accommodation establishments reached 86%.

Popular tourist destinations included the hydroelectric reservoir in Quynh Nhai district; the community tourism villages in Van Ho and Chieng Yen communes and waterfalls in Chieng Khoa commune, Van Ho district; Ta Xua commune, Bac Yen district; the community tourist destination in Ngoc Chien commune, Muong La district; and the Son La Prison special national historical site in Son La city.

Especially during the holidays, Moc Chau district welcomed 112,000 domestic and foreign tourists, with estimated tourism revenue of more than 86 billion VND and a room occupancy rate of 100%.

Localities guided and urged units, organisations, and individuals to commit to strictly following regulations in tourism service business activities; and took measures to ensure security, traffic order and safety, fire prevention and fighting, and food safety at tourist areas, tourist attractions, and service establishments, thus better serving visitors.
