Plum blossom season in full bloom in Chieng Co

In the early days of spring, along with the plum blossoms on the Moc Chau plateau, in Chieng Co commune, Son La city, plum orchards are also bursting with white flowers, covering the hillsides. The pure beauty of the plum blossoms has attracted many locals and tourists to admire and capture beautiful moments.

Son La city currently has over 1,000 hectares of plum trees, mainly in Chieng Co and Chieng Den communes. The plum trees grow densely, their white flowers bloom profusely across the hill slopes and valleys, making the surrounding mountains and forests shine brightly. The silk-like plum petals bloom closely around the rough branches, blending with the traditional stilt houses to create a picturesque, rustic, and lively scene. When the gentle wind blows, the fragile petals flutter, drifting in the breeze like falling snow, captivating many tourists.

This year, the plum blossoms began blooming in late January and reached their peak for about 10-15 days. To not miss the full bloom, many people have contacted orchard owners to visit during the most beautiful time to admire and take photos. The pure white plum blossoms resemble the beauty of a mountain girl.

To not miss the poetic scenery of the plum blossom season, Lo Thi Phuong Chi from Song Ma district, along with friends, came to Son La city to take photos and enjoy the beauty of plum blossoms at their peak. Chi shared: "Through social media, I saw everyone sharing about the plum blossoms, which excited me, so I invited my friends to visit the plum orchards in Chieng Co commune. Although the weather was quite cold, the natural scenery was so poetic, and I had a beautiful photo album."

The plum blossom season in Son La city not only brings captivating natural beauty but also becomes an important source of income, improving the local people's lives. Along with harvesting fruit, many owners advertise their orchards on social media with specific addresses and contact numbers to help tourists find their way to come to contemplate the blossoms.

Recognizing the demand from tourists, before the plum blossoms bloom, orchard owners have taken great care to maintain and beautify their gardens to welcome visitors. Many have invested in costumes, props, photography services, food, and accommodation... The entrance fee to visit the orchards is very reasonable, averaging 20,000 VND (0.78 USD) per person.

Quang Van Lan, the owner of Chieng Co Farm plum orchard in Hom hamlet, Chieng Co commune, said: "For over a week now, my orchard has been busy with tourists coming to admire the flowers and take photos, with weekends being the busiest. On average, we receive 200-300 visitors daily, earning from several hundred thousand to a few million VND."

The plum blossom season is also an ideal time for photographers to capture beautiful moments. The landscape filled with pure white plum flowers, combined with sunlight, creates stunning photos that attract many photographers. Tran Cuong, a photographer from Son La city, shared: "The plum blossom season in Son La is always romantic and poetic, and it attracts me every spring. The scenery here is truly wonderful, perfect for landscape and portrait photography. Many customers have already booked photo sessions since the beginning of the season. The price ranges from 300,000 to 700,000 VND per individual, and 2-3 million VND per group."

 The plum blossoms are likened to a mountain girl with a vibrant beauty.

The plum blossom season has become a highlight in the development of tourism in Chieng Co. The commune encourages locals and orchard owners to renovate and care for their orchards, invest in community-based tourism, and diversify services to meet tourists' needs. Additionally, the locality has directed officials and residents to actively promote the beauty of plum blossoms on social media so that more people and tourists can discover them.

The plum blossom season in Son La city has become a "specialty" for nature lovers every spring. After the blossom season, the plum trees will focus on fruiting, promising a bountiful harvest.
